It is a cold dark windy day and you are walking to school when a laser beam shoots out in front of you. You shield your eyes. Seconds later you open your eyes and don’t know where you are. It looks like you are in a ship of some sort. You look out the window and …
You are on the titanic! You start to freak out because you have read about the titanic and you know that I sank! You run outside and the next thing you see is . . .
Hello, my name is Sam and this is my story of basically the end of the world. The world hasn't ended yet but it probably will. So, here is how it all started. It all started with an asteroid, a BIG asteroid, one that would literally destroy the earth. So we put all of our explosives at it like nukes and rockets. The stuff inside the bombs and rockets are what got me here today. So you are probably all wondering what was in the rockets. Well radium is what the rockets were made of. So when we launched the rockets at the asteroid, it rained radium on us. As a result all of the cold blooded animals like worms and frogs mutated into giant monsters. This was going to be a big problem for us!

So as you all probably know, the world is now drenched in giant carnivorous monsters. Right now I am in an underground bunker in the middle of a field filled with mutated beetles that will try to eat us if we go up to the surface. The bunker is a large metal box with branches going off in different directions. It has an electrical room, cafeteria, sleeping areas, bath room and an intercom. Oh, I nearly forgot to introduce you to the other people I am stuck living with. Hank, Stan and Emma. Hank is the leader of the group, Stan is the tech guy and Emma a scientist.
Stan always said “we will be safe in the bunker”. So, now you know all the names of the people I live with, and pretty much everything that there is about me. Now I just need to get to bed. I will tell you more later tomorrow.

*CRASH!* I woke up with a start as a wave of dust came rushing toward me, The lights were out and I had no idea what was happening, then I heard Hank start yelling over the intercoms
“THERE HAS BEEN A BREACH IN THE CAFETERIA! I REPEAT, THERE HAS BEEN A BREACH IN THE CAFETERIA! ANYONE THAT IS STILL ALIVE AND WANTS TO STAY THAT WAY GET OUT” I scrambled out of my bed and slipped on my shoes. Luckily I had slept in my clothes so I just had to get my belt with my flashlight, pistol, and ammo in it.
I need to get out of here, I thought to myself. I turned on my flashlight and looked around to find somebody else, but I saw nobody in their beds, I was the only one in the room. “I should check if the doors are locked just in case,” I murmured to myself. So I tried the doors to see if they were open and they were. I opened the door just a crack to see through and I saw just the normal hallway, I opened it a bit more just to walk through. As I went through the door and rounded the corner, I remembered I had to go through the cafeteria to get to the exit. I was thinking, should I risk it all but have a chance for survival or get eaten by one of the monsters. I took the chance and went to the cafeteria.
About halfway there I went past the electrical room and saw that it caved in. There was dirt and rocks at the entrance. I didn't pay much attention to it and just walked by it. When I got to the cafeteria door I stopped and listened to see if anything was still in there. I heard nothing so I went in.The first thing I saw was a big hole in the ceiling and moonlight coming through. I could feel a cold draft probably coming from the hole. I shone the flashlight all over the room until I saw a pair of jet black eyes that belonged to a huge beetle in the corner to my left. I was paralyzed with fear as the beetle slowly came closer. When it was about five meters away I finally came to my senses and ran for the ladder to get to the exit. As I got to the foot of the ladder I began to climb up to the hatch. The hatch was my way out.
I pulled a lever to open the hatch, and after I heard a click I pushed it. Once I climbed out I closed the hatch. As I stood up I thought I should probably look for my friends. I started to yell “HELLO? IS ANYONE OUT HERE?” As I got no response I started to worry that I might be on my own for this whole journey.
I ran in a random direction hoping to find shelter and avoid the monsters. After a few hours of running I had to take a break and sat on a rock. “Will I ever find shelter?” I asked myself. A little later I heard a crack of twigs and a rustle of leaves. Then I heard a low growl. I was scared. I got up and started to walk backwards away from the noise. I was starting to think it was a monster when a big, skinny black dog appeared. I was very surprised as it came up and sniffed my hand and sat. I tested to see if the dog would follow me so I got up and started to walk around. And the dog followed me! I was happy to have a new friend, one that I could care about and it will care back. I walked around trying to find a fallen log to rest under. When I was looking around I saw I low rock “even better,” I said to myself. So my friend and I lay down to rest under the rock.
When I awoke the dog was already up. I crawled up from under the rock and started to walk to find s
started to walk to find shelter. As expected the dog followed. As we walked we heard some splashes. We ignored it until we came to a pond. When we were just going past the pond a giant green ugly and slimy frog jumped out and attacked my friend. With a quick reaction I picked up my pistol and shot the frog in the heart. The dog came running toward me scared but I was relieved he was okay. We walked a bit further and saw a hint of yellow through the leaves. “Here boy,” I said. “I think I see a bus”. As I went toward it with the dog by my side I saw it was a bus.We went inside the bus and found food and water. We decided to call this our home because we felt safe…for now.
